1. Venue Approval (Most important)
Obtain approval from the venue owner or venue management. This is required whether you’re using a hotel, convention centre, office compound, park, or community space.
2. Public Entertainment Licence (If Applicable)
You may need a Public Entertainment Licence (PEL) if your event includes entertainment that is open to the public and does not fall under an exemption. Examples include live performances, concerts, or certain stage shows. Private, invitation-only corporate family days are often exempt, but you should confirm based on your event details.
3. NParks Permit (For Parks)
If your family day is held in an NParks-managed park or nature reserve, you may require:
- Venue booking
- Organised group activity permit
- Approval for event structures or exclusive use of an area
These requirements depend on the park and the scale of the event.
4. SCDF Temporary Change of Use Permit
If you’re transforming a building or space for a temporary event (e.g. setting up a carnival, exhibition, stage, or large temporary structures), SCDF may require a Temporary Change of Use Permit (TCOUP).
